01

The Problem

WooCommerce wasn’t built for trade customers

A retail store and a B2B operation look the same on the surface. Behind the checkout they are completely different. Trade accounts need their own prices, their own ordering tools, their own approval process, and their own view of your catalogue. None of that is in WooCommerce out of the box.

Every trade customer sees retail prices

There is no native way to show different prices to different customer types without custom code or role hacks that break during updates.

No controlled access for trade buyers

Products, categories, and prices are visible to everyone. You cannot gate the catalogue or hide prices until a trade account is approved.

Quote requests fall into the inbox

There is no system for managing quote conversations, tracking their status, or converting an accepted quote directly to a WooCommerce order.

Quantity discounts require a separate plugin

Tiered pricing that rewards bulk orders means adding another plugin that may not respect your existing pricing rules.

Company accounts mean shared logins

A trade buyer’s finance team, purchasing manager, and directors each need their own login – with no connection between them and no shared order history.

VAT-exempt B2B customers still see VAT

Manually removing VAT from B2B orders, one at a time, is not a process – it is a liability.

Ordlo Wholesale handles all of it – in one plugin,
from one admin area.

02

What It Does

Twelve features with a clear job.

No padding for the sake of a longer feature count. Each one solves a B2B problem that WooCommerce leaves to custom code.

Customer groups

Create named groups — Trade, Distributor, Staff, Platinum — and configure each group’s pricing rules, visibility restrictions, payment methods, and shipping options. Assign customers at approval or from their profile at any time.

Trade registration form

A built-in application form with company name, VAT number, trade evidence uploads, and custom fields with conditional logic. Manual or auto-approval. Approve and assign a group in one action. Three automated emails fire through the process.

Product and category visibility

Show or hide products and categories per group. Trade-only catalogues, group-specific ranges, and retail products invisible to wholesale – managed from the group settings.

My Account hub

A trade-specific account area where customers manage their quotes, orders, company users, saved purchase lists, and conversations – in one place.

Layered pricing

Seven levels of price priority: default fallback, group fallback, base wholesale price, reusable price list, per-group product price, quantity tier, and customer-specific negotiated price. A Price Preview tool shows exactly which rule wins for any customer and product.

Quote management

Customers request a quote; you respond with a formal quote, negotiate inside a linked conversation thread, set an expiry, and convert the accepted quote to a WooCommerce order – all without leaving the admin.

VAT and tax controls

B2B-specific VAT display at checkout, VIES validation for EU VAT numbers, and per-group tax exemption. No manual adjustment per order.

Notifications and email design

Configurable transactional emails for registration, approval, rejection, and quote events. Full visual email designer – logo, colours, button styles – with live preview and test send before publishing.

Quantity tier pricing

Set buy-more-pay-less tiers per product or variation. The tiered table displays automatically on the product page. Import and clear tier rules in bulk via CSV.

Company accounts and subaccounts

Multi-user company accounts with role-based permissions. A buyer places orders, a finance contact views invoices, a manager approves – all under one company account. Subaccounts inherit the parent group’s pricing automatically.

Quick order and bulk ordering

A quick order form for repeat trade buyers: enter SKUs or quantities and add to cart in one action. CSV upload for large orders. Saved purchase lists for favourites.

Reporting and status

Dashboard metrics for wholesale revenue. CSV export. A status health check that confirms the plugin is configured correctly — useful when something doesn’t behave as expected.

Plus guest price hiding, store-front login gates, reusable price lists, trade and customs fields (HS codes, country of origin), offers (time-limited fixed-price bundles), and companion integrations with Ordlo Shipping, Cart Rules, Min Max, and Packing List.

03

How It Works

From install to first trade order in a day.

Most stores have wholesale accounts running the same day they install. The setup order is: groups, then pricing, then registration.

01 / Set up your customer groups
Create the groups that match your trade structure.

Name your groups – Retailer, Distributor, Staff – and configure each group’s pricing rules, permitted payment methods, and category access. One group is enough to start; add more as the account base grows.

02 / Set your wholesale prices
Assign prices, tiers, and lists.

Set a base wholesale price on each product, add group-specific overrides, or build quantity tiers that reward larger orders. Use the Price Preview tool to confirm exactly what each group sees before you go live.

03 / Enable the registration form
Let trade customers apply

Switch on the trade registration form, set your approval mode (manual or auto), and publish. Applicants submit their details; you review, approve, and assign a group in one action.

04 / Take trade orders and manage quotes
Approved customers log in and start ordering

They see their group prices, use the quick order form or browse the catalogue, and check out. Quote requests arrive in the admin queue — respond, negotiate, convert to order when accepted.

Who It’s For

Three B2B operations we built around.

The trade scenarios that shaped every feature decision.

Sarah, craft supplies shop owner, using Ordlo WooCommerce Shipping Pro plugin for shipping rate management, visual builder for custom rules, and weight-based shipping tiers.

Helen

Independent food producer

Sells retail direct-to-consumer and wholesale to independent retailers. Needs separate pricing for each channel, a VAT-exempt group for registered trade buyers, and a registration form that asks for a Companies House number. The single-site licence covers her.

The registration form and group pricing is the whole story for Helen.

James, agency developer, representing Ordlo WooCommerce Shipping Pro plugin features for client store management and shipping rate customization.

Marcus

Electronics distributor

Three tiers of dealer — Gold, Silver, Bronze — each with different unit prices and minimum orders. Runs quote requests for large or non-standard orders. Needs company accounts so a buyer’s finance team can access invoices without a shared login.

Quote management and company accounts are the features he relies on most.

Logo design for Ordlo, featuring a stylized letter "P" representing the Ordlo WooCommerce Shipping Pro plugin.

Anya

WooCommerce agency developer

Builds wholesale stores for clients. Imports tier pricing via CSV rather than setting it product by product. Needs the plugin to behave predictably across every client build, and pairs it with Ordlo Shipping for zone-based wholesale delivery rules.

Bulk import and the Ordlo Shipping companion are the features she leans on most.

Questions

The bits people ask first.

If your question isn’t here, the Knowledge Base goes deeper. Or send a note.

Is there a free version?

No. Ordlo Wholesale is a Pro-only plugin — no freemium tier, no stripped-down free version. Every licence includes the full feature set. There is a 14-day money-back guarantee if it doesn’t fit your store.

What WooCommerce and WordPress versions are supported?

WooCommerce 7.0+ and WordPress 6.0+. PHP 7.4+. HPOS-compatible from version 1.0.

Can I run both retail and wholesale pricing on the same store?

Yes. Retail customers see your standard WooCommerce prices. Wholesale customers see their group price. The plugin does not alter any price shown to non-wholesale visitors.

How does the layered pricing work?

The plugin looks for the most specific price first and falls back down the chain. Customer-specific negotiated price wins over a quantity tier, which wins over a per-group product price, which wins over a reusable price list, and so on. The Price Preview tool shows exactly which rule wins for any customer and product combination before you go live.

How does the quote system work with the standard checkout?

Customers request a quote from a product page or via their account. You respond in the admin, negotiate inside the linked conversation thread, set an expiry date, and send a formal quote. When the customer accepts, you convert it to a WooCommerce order. They pay through the normal checkout flow.

Can multiple people at the same company share an account?

Yes. Company accounts support subaccounts with role-based permissions. A buyer places orders, a finance contact views invoices, a manager approves — all under one company account. Subaccounts inherit the parent group’s pricing automatically.

Does it work with WooCommerce’s native tax settings?

Yes, and extends them. Per-group tax exemption, a B2B VAT number field at checkout, VIES validation for EU customers, and independent control of whether wholesale prices display including or excluding tax – without touching your retail tax configuration.

Can I import wholesale prices in bulk?

Yes. Base wholesale prices, per-group prices, and quantity tier rules can all be imported and exported via CSV from the bulk edit screen. Useful for large catalogues or migrating from another plugin.

Does it work with Ordlo Shipping?

Yes. Ordlo Wholesale integrates with Ordlo Shipping to restrict which shipping methods a group can use. Assign a method to a group and that group sees only their allowed methods at checkout.

What happens when my licence expires?

The plugin continues to run for existing customers, but admin features lock, new wholesale registrations are blocked, and automatic updates stop. Renew any time to restore everything.

Does it support HPOS?

Yes. Ordlo Wholesale is HPOS-compatible from version 1.0.

Does it support multiple languages or currencies?

All plugin text is output through standard WordPress internationalisation (i18n), making it compatible with WPML and similar translation plugins. Currency switching is handled by your currency plugin of choice; Ordlo Wholesale respects whichever price is active.
