Discount Types in Detail

Type Description and use case
Fixed discount Deducts a set amount — e.g. £5 off all products in a category
Percentage discount Reduces the price by a percentage — e.g. 15% off for a wholesale group
Fixed price Sets the product to a specific price — e.g. £9.99 for a trade group
Tiered quantity pricing Unit price drops at quantity thresholds — e.g. 1–9 at £10, 10–49 at £8, 50+ at £6.50
Buy X Get Y Buy a set number and get one (or more) free or discounted
Free shipping Removes shipping cost when conditions are met
Cart notice Shows a message in the cart
Checkout blocking Prevents order placement with a custom message

Conditions

Same conditions as Cart Rules: product, SKU, category, brand, tag, shipping class, sale status, cart subtotal, item quantity, cart weight, coupon, shipping country/method/payment method, customer role, Ordlo Wholesale group, email, first order, repeat customer, order count, lifetime spend, and date/schedule.


Common Setups

  • Wholesale group discount — Percentage discount + Ordlo Wholesale group condition. Calculate from retail price for a clear saving vs. RRP.
  • Tiered pricing on a range — Tiered quantity pricing + Category condition.
  • Buy 3 Get 1 Free — Buy X Get Y. Set X to 3, Y to 1 free unit.
  • New customer welcome discount — Percentage discount + First order condition + 1 use per customer limit.
