Ordlo Xero Sync Pro: Connecting to Xero

Part of Ordlo Xero Sync Pro Documentation

Connecting Ordlo Xero Sync Pro to your Xero account is a two-part process: first you enter your Xero developer app credentials, then you authorise the connection. Each store uses its own Xero developer app — the plugin doesn’t use any shared credentials.

If you haven’t created your Xero developer app yet, see Getting Started for step-by-step instructions, or email info@ordlo.io for help.

Entering Your App Credentials

  1. Go to Ordlo → Xero Settings in your WordPress admin.
  2. Find the Xero Developer App section. There is a Redirect URI shown here — this must be added to your Xero developer app exactly as displayed.
  3. In your Xero developer app at developer.xero.com/app/manage, add that Redirect URI and save.
  4. Copy your Client ID and Client Secret from the Xero developer app.
  5. Paste both values into Ordlo → Xero Settings and save.

Connecting to Xero

With credentials saved, click Connect to Xero. You’ll be taken to Xero to log in, select your organisation, and approve access. Once you approve, you’ll be redirected back to your store and the connection will show as active with the organisation name.

Reconnecting

If the connection drops, go to Ordlo → Xero Settings and click Re-connect Xero to go through the Xero login again. If you update your Client ID or Client Secret, the existing connection will be cleared so you can reconnect using the new credentials.

Disconnecting

To remove the Xero connection entirely, click Disconnect in the settings. This clears the stored connection tokens. You can reconnect at any time as long as your credentials are still saved.

If Account Dropdowns Are Empty After Connecting

The account and tax code dropdowns in your settings are populated from your Xero account. If they appear empty, the most common cause is that the connection didn’t complete, or the Xero user you connected with doesn’t have access to the organisation. Try reconnecting with a Xero account that has the correct permissions.
